THREE fire crews were called out following reports of a kitchen fire at a block of flats in Warrington on Friday afternoon.
At 15:43, crews from Warrington, Penketh and Runcorn attended the incident on St. Peter’s Way, responding to an alarm, where a kitchen fire was confirmed in one of the flats.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the building and used a hose reel jet to quickly extinguish the fire.
The fire was contained to the kitchen, and there was no further risk to other residents. A high-pressure fan was used to clear smoke from the property once the fire was out.
One casualty was checked by firefighters at the scene.
