DETECTIVES investigating an aggravated burglary in the Poplars & Hulme area of Warrington, when a man suffered serious head injuries, have now charged three people in relation to the incident.
Shortly before 11pm on Wednesday 13 May, police were called to reports of a disturbance at an address on Fairbrother Crescent, Poplars and Hulme.
Officers attended the scene and found that unknown offenders had forced entry into the address and assaulted the 56-year-old occupant.
The man suffered serious head injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.
Following enquiries, three people were later arrested in relation to the incident.
Jeffrey Garnett, 48, of Evington, Tanhouse, Skelmesdale; Nicholas Palmer, 42, of Colwyn Close, Callands, Warrington; and Veronica Walsh, 52, of Darfield, Up Holland, have all been charged with aggravated burglary.
Walsh has also been charged with section 18 assault and assault.
All three Defendants have appeared at Chester Magistrates Court where they were remanded in custody. They are next set to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday 15 June.
