HOMEBUILDER Redrow has donated £1,500 to a suicide‑prevention and mental health charity, which supports men in Warrington.
The Daresbury-based housebuilder made the donation via the Barratt Redrow Foundation towards Andy’s Man Club, which delivers free, weekly support groups across the North West and the UK.
The charity was founded in 2016 by the family of 23‑year‑old Andy Roberts, with the aim to challenge the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and encourage open conversation.
Antony Valori, area lead for Andy Man’s Club in Merseyside and North West, said: “Thank you to Redrow North West and the Barratt Redrow Foundation for this donation, which will enable us to spread the word of Andy Man’s Club and provide an ear for men across Cheshire.
“Our groups provide a safe, confidential and non‑judgemental space where men aged 18 and over can share their experiences and support one another. Built around the message that “it’s okay to talk”, Andy’s Man Club continues to help thousands of men each week through the power of conversation. Meetings are held every Monday (expect bank holidays) at 7pm and there is no need to book on, all are welcome.”
Meetings taking place in Cheshire in The Army Welfare Service in Chester, Westfield Primary School in Runcorn, Warrington Town Football Club and Warrington Rylands Football Club.
Amanda Jones, head of sales at Redrow NW, said: “Andy Man’s Club provide a much-needed service to the community, and we are very proud to support the team with their donation. Challenging stigma and encouraging open conversations is so important when it comes to helping men with their mental health.”
