Business giants join forces to bridge ‘Education to Employment’ gap for local teens

WARRINGTON-based business giants are joining forces to help bridge the ‘Education to Employment’ gap for local teenagers.

The town is home to an incredible next generation of talent, and a new project is making sure they get the chance they deserve.

Warrington Networking is officially launching its “Education to Employment” events, made to help students aged 14 to 18 get a head start in the 2026 job market.
The programme aims to create some transparency surrounding the working world, by building a direct link between students and local industry leaders. Unlike a standard careers fair, these monthly events focus on the “human” side of work—teaching young people how to talk to professionals, build their confidence, and most importantly, make valuable connections with employers.
The upcoming events feature a heavy-hitting lineup of local “business giants,” including Warrington Wolves, National Nuclear Laboratory, Barrow Electrical, and Dante Group. These organisations and their leadership teams are masters of their craft and collectively hold over 15 major awards and professional honors.
“We want students to realize that their career really is within reach,” says student Elliot Taylor, founder of Warrington Networking, who is also liaising with the town’s Warrington Chamber Plus.
“At our events, we eventually aim for young people to approach us with who they would benefit from talking to, so that we can do our best to make it a reality. We’re here to help them separate themselves from the pack by taking the crucial steps towards employment that education alone doesn’t provide.”
The events will also feature real-world advice and success stories from renowned guest speakers, including networking professional David Guile and local entrepreneur Lisa Hourihan, the founder of the TEO Academy.
Beyond career advice, the initiative focuses on “future-proofing” students by helping them build a professional network before they even finish their education.
