Reform Warrington believe they can “win big too”

AS the results of this year’s local elections are analysed, members of the Reform UK branch in Warrington have been looking enviously at the success their party has enjoyed in neighbouring councils.

Reform has taken control of St Helens, won 16 of the 19 available seats in nearby Halton, and defeated Labour in every contested seat in Wigan.
Warrington branch Secretary Carl Knapper said: “With a failing local Labour council in Warrington, which has effectively gambled and lost with council taxpayers’ money, we believe similar results can be achieved in Warrington if residents give us the chance.
“Here in Warrington, we are building a positive movement focused on practical solutions, accountability, and giving residents a stronger voice.”
The Warrington team says its focus will remain firmly on local priorities, including supporting safer, cleaner neighbourhoods and championing responsible spending and accountability.
Above all, members say they are committed to listening directly to residents and addressing the concerns of our local community.
The local branch of Reform UK, which says it has 1,700 members and supporters across the town, has recently reorganised and launched a new Facebook page to engage with the public.
The branch also holds regular monthly meetings and is currently planning a new wave of campaigning over the summer.
Reform did win a seat on the borough council in the Bewsey and Whitecross by-election last Aust. But their successful candidate John Roddy switched to the Conservatives earlier this year, citing lack of support from Central Office.

  1. This is a pack of lies and Karl knows it. They don’t have enough active membership to form the opposition on the council. Their restraint from Jake Fraser at Reform HQ has meant they lost the momentum in Warrington North because Culcheth Residents have taken their votes from them. Jan Balfe made the decision to stop Reform doing anything in Culcheth. Only the Greens can now beat Labour in Warrington North and Reform only has themselves to blame. No Reform leaflets put out or street stalls in Warrington in coming up to 11 months now, branch repeatedly suspended because Jake Fraser can’t have his friend run the branch. It’s like Reform don’t want to win a council when it was easily winnable a year ago. Talk to the press when you’ve realised this isn’t a game and this stuff actually matters to people.
