Man charged with murder following death of headteacher cyclist near Lymm

A 34-year-old man has been charged with murder following a fatal collision on Paddock Lane, Warburton, near Lymm, on Monday, 20 April, at around 6:10 pm.

Simon Richardson of no fixed address has been charged with murder, manslaughter, dangerous driving, failing to stop, and driving without insurance.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court today (Friday 24 April).

Officers are continuing to appeal for information as they progress their investigation.
This includes any witnesses, CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage from around the area at the time of the incident.
