Police seek witnesses after pedestrian seriously injured in fail-to-stop collision

DETECTIVES have launched an investigation after a 45-year-old local man was seriously injured following a fail-to-stop collision at Westbrook, Warrington.

At around 5.45 pm on Tuesday, 25 November, police were called to reports of a collision on Westbrook Way near to Asda superstore.

Police attended the scene and found a pedestrian had been involved in a collision with a silver BMW.
The driver of the car failed to stop at the scene.
The pedestrian, a 45-year-old local man, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Aintree Hospital, where he remains at this time.
A 50-year-old man from Penketh has since been arrested in relation to the incident. He is currently being held in police custody on suspicion of failing to stop following a collision and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
