A Warrington schoolboy has embarked on a fundraising mission so he can travel to Kenya to help improve the lives of local children.
Jack Williams, aged 13, has been offered an “amazing opportunity” by great sankey High School in Warrington, to go to Kenya in July 2027 to work with local communities, to help improve accommodation, access to clean drinking water and work with local children.
He has already raised over £1,000 towards his total of £4,600 to cover costs.
Jack said: “This trip isn’t a holiday – it’s all about helping others, learning new things, and challenging myself. I’ll get to see what life is like in a completely different part of the world, and hopefully come home with new skills, memories, and friends for life.
He added: “I will get to witness first hand the difference between the conditions they live in to what I have at home. To take part in this trip I have to raise £4600, with this in mind I am emailing local companies to ask for support. Whether it be a donation towards my fund, a raffle prize, sponsorship to have their company logo on my camp T-shirt which will be included in all the social media posts regarding the trip or a fundraising idea.
“Every donation will get me one step closer to reaching my goal.”
