Charlotte Nichols MP recently visited Woolson Wasps Link Club and Nursery to discuss the Government’s proposed rollout of free breakfast clubs across the UK in 2026 and to present a surprise Parliamentary award to two well-loved members of staff.
Following discussions regarding the Labour Government’s plan to roll-out its free breakfast club proposals to a further 2,000 schools across the UK next year attention turned to Jane King and Margaret Mcloughlin.
Jane King and Margaret Mcloughlin are Manager and Deputy Manager of the Woolston Wasps Nursery and have worked there for thirty years each. As well as working together they are also sisters and have worked at Woolston Wasps Nursery since it first opened.
Jane and Margaret have cared for a generation of local Warrington Children and upon reaching their thirty-year mile stone were presented with a Parliamentary recognition award from Warrington North MP Charlotte Nichols.
Charlotte Nichols MP said “It was an absolute joy to visit Woolston Wasps Link Clubs and Nurseries today, and to present Jane and Margaret with certificates of recognition for over 30 years of service each to the local community having worked there since it very first opened.”
“They have cared for hundreds of children in that time and have been a part of so many families’ journeys locally, and chatting to them both it was so clear that three decades in their passion or commitment hasn’t dimmed one bit – their faces absolutely light up talking about the children and the part they get to play in their lives. They have a fabulous team around them, and the kids clearly love their time there with the walls absolutely covered in all their artwork and so many different activities on offer for them to enjoy.”
“I was also really touched by the card thanking me for my visit from the children, which will be getting pride of place on my office wall. Thank you to the team at Woolston Wasps for the opportunity to see the amazing work you do day in day out!”
