Two men arrested following attempted burglary at Latchford

TWO Warrington men were swiftly arrested following an attempted burglary at Latchford, Warrington, during the early hours of this morning.

At 3.50 am today, Friday 3 October, police were called to reports of an incident in Edgewater Place, Latchford, in which two men were attempting to gain access to a property.
The caller was alerted to the incident after hearing a banging noise and interrupted the suspects before they fled the scene.
Officers attended and noticed two men nearby matching the description of the suspects. One man was detained while another made off on an e-bike. He was swiftly identified and arrested.
The two men, aged 53 and 37, from Warrington, were arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary. They remain in custody at this time.

DC Gary Howard said: “I am pleased that these two suspects were swiftly arrested within one hour of receiving the call reporting the attempted robbery.
“The two men remain in custody at this time, assisting officers with their enquiries.
“I hope this reassures residents in the local area of how seriously we take offences of this nature.”
