PLANNING bosses are to inspect the site of a proposed crop storage barn on Green Belt land near Warrington after hearing of objections from nearby residents.
Proposals for the barn on farmland at Ten Acre Field, off Cuerdley Road, Penketh have already been put forward twice.
The first scheme, involving three barns, was withdrawn following outspoken opposition from neighbours.
But a scaled down plan, involving just one barns, is also being opposed by residents and Penketh Parish Council, so members of the borough council’s development management committee are to visit the site before reaching a decision.
Objectors claim the development would damage the Green Belt, the open aspect of the area and wildlife and also express concern there would be a potential for the building to later be converted to a house.
Planning officers are recommending the scheme be approved and say while there were valid concerns over the original plan for three barns, the new scheme is appropriate for the site.
