Police seek help to identify illegal off-road bikers

POLICE are seeking help to identify those illegally riding off-road motorcycles and quad bikes in Sankey Valley Park and Great Sankey area of Warrington.

Uniformed and plain clothed officers have been patrolling the area in response to numerous calls from the public and will continue to do so.

A police spokesperson said: “Every time a motorbike is ridden dangerously along one of our local roads or pavements it is putting road users, pedestrians and the riders themselves at risk.
Are you seeing this happen, do you know who the rider is?
“It could even be coming from one of your neighbours gardens.
“It can be a difficult choice to tell us information that can get someone you know in trouble, but balance that against the potential horrendous outcomes of a crash or a rider’s lack of skill or error of judgement at high speed.
“If you know who these riders are, if you know where the bikes they use are stored. If you are worried, they may end up hurting themselves or others then please get in touch with us and let us know in complete confidence.”

Members of the public are invited to call Crimestoppers on 0800555111 or give information anonymously via their website here or by calling the police on 101 or 999 in an emergency.
