GIANT poppies, including two purple ones to remember animals lost during the wars and a new Union flag are now proudly on display at Warrington Cenotaph thanks to the efforts of local campaigner Julie Francis.
Julie, who was assisted by a veteran friend carried out the work last week to ensure the town centre cenotaph is looking its best for Remembrance Sunday this week.
Local resident Julie, who lives on nearby Chester Road and successfully campaigned for Warrington Borough Council to carry out improvements to the cenotaph on Bridgefoot, has ensured the items are in place in time for Remembrance Day
and the annual Remembrance Day service.
As well as the purple poppies, she has also resprayed the red ones to freshen them up.
She has also added two wooden crosses to the two Tommy’s on site.
