Abandoned cat seeks peaceful home this Bonfire Night

As Bonfire Night draws near, Cats Protection Warrington Cat Centre is hoping to find a loving home for Cinders, a beautiful and gentle cat who was found abandoned with her son, Sparkler.

Sparkler has now found the perfect home, and Cinders is hoping for her own fresh start in a home where she can feel safe and loved.
Emma Harris, Deputy Centre Manager, said: “Cinders and Sparkler were sadly found by some of our volunteer fosterers, abandoned in a carrier by their Cats Protection van. A note explained they were mother and son and that their owner could no longer care for them.
“She has a grade two heart murmur which we are happy to provide further information on to any potential adopters.
“Cinders is quite reserved and understandably still adjusting to centre life but has started to come out of her shell. With a little patience and understanding, she’ll make a wonderful companion in a quiet home.”

Why Bonfire Night can be difficult for cats like Cinders

Fireworks can be extremely distressing and dangerous to pets and wild animals. For sensitive cats like Cinders, who are already coping with the stress of new surroundings, the added noise and lights of Bonfire Night can be especially unsettling.
Creating safe, quiet spaces at home can help cats feel secure and more relaxed during fireworks. Cats Protection are actively campaigning to restrict the use of fireworks to keep cats safe and prevent the suffering they can cause to humans and animals.
This Bonfire Night, making a small change and attending an organised display instead of celebrating at home will help ensure a safer, less stressful night for beloved pets and wildlife.
