POLICE have been alerted following a suspected deliberate car fire near Sankey Valley Park, Warrington, last night.
Nearby residents reported hearing an explosion as the saloon vehicle burst into flames near Lilford Avenue, Bewsey.
At 23:16, last night, Wednesday, fire crews from Penekth and warrington attended reports of a car fire off Lilford Avenue.
A fire in a saloon car was put out by firefighters using a hose reel jet. The crews then dampened the affected area down. Police were informed as it is believed the fire was started deliberately.
