Firefighters tackle fire in toilet block

TWO fire crews were called out yesterday afternoon to tackle a fire in a toilet block at Birchwood, Warrington.

At 13:59 crews from Birchwood and Warrington were called to reports of a fire in a building on Brock Road.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus put out a fire in a toilet block and used a high-pressure fan to clear the smoke from the building.

Crews stayed on the scene to monitor the affected area with a thermal imaging camera.

In another incident at 15:00 one crew from Penketh attended a car fire on Kerfoot Street, Warrington.
Firefighters extinguished a small car fire, isolated the battery, and used a thermal imaging camera to check for sources of heat.
