79 schools in Warrington rated “good” or “outstanding” by Ofsted

A TOTAL of 79 schools in Warrington have been rated “good!” or “outstanding by education watchdog Ofsted – that’s 81 per cent of the borough’s schools.

That places the borough in the Top 10 areas in the UK – equal with Manchester.

But top-of-the-class in the survey carried out by Outdoor Toys is near neighbour Wigan with 86 per cent of its schools rated either good or outstanding.
Of Warrington’s 97 schools, 65 are rated as “good” and 14 as “outstanding.”
That compares with 62 “good” and 22 “outstanding” in Wigan.
Other North West education authorities in the Top 10 are Liverpool and Bolton, each with 82 per cent.
The research has been carried out as part of a wider survey into family happiness, which takes in other factors including the highest salaries, house prices, cheapest utility bills, things to do, average rainfall iand safety.

Neither Warrington nor Wigan figures in the tables for the happiest areas, but Wigan is listed eighth in the list of unhappiest areas.
Warrington comes third in the table for the safest places to live.
