Pride in Place Board meets for first time to plan £20 million engagement with the community

The resident-led board for Pride in Place recently met to plan how best to listen to the community and ensure everyone has their views heard.

Pride in Place will give £20 million of government cash for Hulme and North Orford to spend on community projects. For example, reclaiming abandoned buildings, improving parks or creating things for young people.
The best thing about Pride in Place is that residents who live in Hulme and North Orford will get to decide how to spend the money.
The board’s role is to let the wider Hulme and North Orford community know that this money is coming to the area. As the board is resident led, they know how best to engage with the wider community. The board is now putting a plan together to do this, and people will start seeing that the board seek their views through community events, surveys and on social media.
