Police seek witnesses after cyclist suffers serious injuries following collision near junction nine of M62

POLICE are appealing witnesses to come forward following a collision on a roundabout at junction nine of the M62 near Warrington, that resulted in a cyclist suffering serious injuries.

The collision involved a cyclist and a red Ford Fiesta.

It occurred on the roundabout of junction nine at around 4.55pm on Friday 19 November.

The cyclist, a 27-year-old local man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He remains in a stable condition at hospital.

The driver of the car, a 22-year-old man from Widnes, was uninjured.

Officers have been conducting numerous enquiries and are appealing for witnesses who have not yet spoken to police to come forward.

Sergeant Anthony Gallagher, from Cheshire Constabulary’s Serious and Complex Investigation Team, said: “As part of the investigation I am appealing for anyone who saw the collision take place or has information that could assist with our enquiries.”
