Infection rates continue to rise as 43 new COVID-19 cases confirmed although hospital admissions remain low

A total of 43 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Warrington, another new high since February, although hospital admissions remain low.

The 43 (35) new COVID-19 cases is the highest number since 60 on February 22 and mean the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic is now 18,171 (18,128).
Data shows most of the recent new infections in Warrington are younger people aged between 15-35.



Meanwhile, Cases in Warrington for the last seven days continue to rise, with 96 (83) – 45.7 (39.5) per 100,000 population over a seven-day period– which is now almost the same as the national rate of 45.8 (42.1) per 100,000, which also continues to rise.
COVID-19 inpatient numbers at Warrington & Halton Hospitals remains low, withb just one new admission in the last 24 hours, taking the total number to two and none in ICU.
Warrington & Halton Hospitals have temporarily suspended provided information due to a data validation exercise but are expected to provide updates soon.
There have been no reported deaths at the hospital since April 27th and currently two COVID inpatients.
There have been a total of 497 COVID-related deaths at the hospital since the start of the pandemic.

The total number of deaths in Warrington within 28 days of a positive test reported by Public Health England is currently 487 (487) 231.9 per 100,000 population compared to the national rate of 191.4
The total number of deaths with Covid-19 on the death certificate in Warrington reported by Public Health England in all settings is now 567 (567).

Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths reported on Tuesday, June 8th 2021 was 13 (1), taking the total number of deaths to 127,854 (127,841).
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 6,048 (5,683), taking the total number to 4,528,442 (4,522,476).
Across the country, there are 957 (932) patients currently in hospital and 148 (134) on ventilation.
