THE annual Lymm Runners Santa Dash has raised £1,000 for two local food charities –Leave No one Behind in Lymm and Warrington Food Bank.

Chris Lees, race organiser and founder of the club said: “We’re proud that our fun-run was able to go ahead so we could support these two worthwhile charities.
“We would like to thank everyone who took part and made this happen, despite the challenging circumstances.”
The run traditionally signals the opening of Lymm Dickensian Christmas Festival and starts off with around 200 “Santas” dashing down the main street to the applause of locals. The rest of the 5K distance then follows the trails and lanes around the village.
It finishes back at the main festival where happy runners still in their Santa Suits can enjoy the food, drink and other delights on offer.
Because of Covid restrictions, the event took place “virtually” with runners collecting their costumes beforehand, completing it in their own time and within their own social bubble.
Some 150 runners took part this year, choosing their own 5k. Lymm Runners are expecting The Dash to be back to normal for next December.
