FIREFIGHTERS from Warrington and Birchwood were called out on New Year’s Eve to reports of a conservatory fire and a tumble dryer fire.

The fire crews attended to a fire in a conservatory on Dunnock Grove, Oakwood shortly before 8.20 pm last night. The fire involved a small quantity of cardboard which was extinguished by the occupier.
Crews used a hose reel to ensure the fire was fully extinguished and a thermal imaging camera to check the temperature.
Earlier in the day, shortly after 11.30am firefighters from Warrington and Birchwood were called to reports of a fire involving a tumble dryer at a house in Foggs Lane, Antrobus.
On arrival at the scene two firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, entered the property and used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
The crews then removed the tumble dryer from the property and used a large fan to clear the smoke from the building.
Firefighters were detained at the scene for around 35 minutes.
