RESURFACING works taking place on Cromwell Avenue, Warrington, are to be extended due to delays.
The works, which started on May 11th, had been scheduled for three weeks but have now been extended until June 19th 2026, between the hours of 7 pm and 1 am to minimise traffic disruption.
Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on 7th May 2026. The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving & clearway as follows: Cromwell Avenue from the roundabout at Canons Road to the junction at Sankey Way; Waterways from the roundabout at Cromwell Avenue for 30 metres; Canons Road from the roundabout at Cromwell Avenue for 30 metres.
The Order was effective from 11th May 2026 for 3 weeks, between 7 pm and 1 am; however, due to delays, the works are now required to remain in place until 19th June 2026, as and when signed on site. The access, alternative route and reason for the works remain the same as previously advertised – resurfacing works.
