Three teenage boys arrested following arson incident at former care home

THREE teenage boys have been arrested following a suspected arson incident at the former Thelwall Grange Care Home in Warrington.

It follows police and firefighters being called out to the former care home on Weaste Lane, Thelwall, following reports of a break-in and a fire at the building, which has become a popular venue for urban explorers.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “The three boys, two aged 16 and one aged 15, were all arrested on suspicion of arson.
“They have since been released on bail pending further enquiries.”

Yesterday, Wednesday, shortly after 3 pm two fire crews were called out to reports of a fire at a disused building on Weaste Lane, Thelwall, Warrington.Geographic Reference

Firefighters used a hose reel and a water backpack to extinguish a fire on the balcony of the disused building. A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hotspots throughout the premises.
This is believed to have been lit deliberately, and police have been informed.
