Fire crews called out to tackle grass fire at Nature Reserve

TWO fire crews were called out last night (Saturday) to tackle a grass fire at Moore Nature Reserve near Warrington.

At 19:53, crews from Warrington and Penketh were called out to reports of a fire off Moore Lane, Warrington at Moore Nature Reserve.
Crews used extended hose reels and beaters to tackle the fire, which measured approximately 20 metres by 40 metres in size.

Earlier at 19:19 one crew from Runcorn was called out to a grass fire on Walnut Tree Lane, Appleton.
Firefighters used water backpacks and beaters to put out a grass fire in a field in Appleton.
At 20:04, a crew from Lymm was called to reports of a fire in the rear garden of a property on Lilford Avenue, Bewsey, Warrington. They used a hose reel and jet to put out a bonfire involving a mattress before providing the occupier with fire safety advice.
Then at 01:48 during the early hours of Sunday morning, one crew from Birchwood was called out to put out a small fire near Radley Lane in Warrington.
