Cheshire Wildlife Trust, the region’s leading independent wildlife charity, is inviting passionate individuals to help shape the future of nature recovery by joining its Board of Trustees.
The charity is also recruiting for eight new positions across the organisation, ranging from trainee to senior roles.
For over 60 years, Cheshire Wildlife Trust has worked to protect and restore wildlife and wild places across Cheshire, Halton, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford, Warrington and Wirral. As nature continues to face increasing threats, the Trust is stepping up its ambition to create a wilder, more resilient Cheshire by 2030 – and needs more people to help make that vision a reality.
The charity is looking for individuals with a passion for positive change to join its Board of Trustees. You don’t need to be a wildlife expert or have previous experience as a board member – just a few spare hours each month and a commitment to making a difference. Full training and mentoring will be provided.
The Trust is particularly keen to hear from adults of all ages (18+) and from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. It aims to build a Board that brings fresh ideas, different perspectives, and better represents the diversity of communities across the region.
“We want to see a thriving natural world where Cheshire’s wildlife and natural habitats play a valued role in addressing the climate and ecological emergencies and people are inspired and empowered to take action for nature,” said Ben Gregory, Director of Nature Recovery at Cheshire Wildlife Trust. “Joining our Board, or applying for one of our current roles, is a chance to be part of something meaningful – helping shape the future for wildlife and for people.”
“Being a Board Member makes me feel like I’m part of something really important – helping ensure that young people grow up with access to nature and an understanding of how vital wildlife is,” said Rebecca Collins a current Board member. “It’s incredibly rewarding to know you’re making a difference.”
As well as seeking new trustees, the Trust is currently recruiting for eight exciting roles based at Bickley Hall Farm and across Cheshire. These include a Living Landscape Trainee post ideal for someone starting their conservation career, as well as opportunities for experienced professionals such as a Senior Philanthropy Officer, Business Services Manager and Senior IT Officer. Other roles include Ecologist, Living Landscape Officer, Membership Recruiter and a Fundraising Administrator. Whether you’re just starting out or looking for a new challenge, there’s never been a better time to join the movement for nature’s recovery.
