Up to 24 weeks of road closures for drainage works on Liverpool Road

UP to 24 weeks of road closures are set to take place on Liverpool Road at Great sankey, Warrington next month (May) for drainage works.

The closures will be between 8:30 am to 5:30 pm as and when signed on site with local diversions in place.

Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which is to introduce a prohibition of driving & clearway on Liverpool Road between Sankey Brook and Kent Road.
The Order will be effective from 8th May 2025. The restrictions are for a period of 24 weeks, between 8:30am and 5:30pm, however, will be in place as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via Penketh Road (A562), Sankey Way (A57), Old Liverpool Road and vice versa. The restrictions are required for drainage works.
