Two-week road closure for new sewer connection at Orford

A two-week road closure will come into force at Orford, Warrington next month (April) to allow a new sewer connection to be installed.

The closure will be on School Road from its junction with Povey Road to Primrose Close, with local diversions in place.

Warrington Borough Council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on School Road from its junction with Povey Road to its junction with Primrose Close.
The Order will be effective from 7th April 2025. The closure is for a period of 2 weeks, however, it will be in place as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works.
The alternative route will be via Povey Road, Capesthorne Road, Poplars Avenue, Statham Avenue, Morgan Avenue, Sandy Lane and vice versa. The closure is required to allow for a new sewer connection to be installed in the highway.
