THREE fire crews were called out earlier today (Tuesday) following reports of a vehicle fire on the M62 westbound near Omega, Warrington.
At 13:30 two fire engines from Birchwood and Penketh plus one fire from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were called out following reports of a fire on the M62 West J08 to J07 near Omega.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish a car that was well alight on the hard shoulder M62.
In another incident last night at 20:35 one crew from warrington was called to reports of a fire in the open on Alder Lane, Warrington.
Firefighters used a water backpack to extinguish a small fire in the open believed to have been caused accidentally by a discarded barbeque.
