Firefighters put out fire in the open due to smoke issues

FIREFIGHTERS were called out this afternoon (Wednesday) to put out a fire in the open at Burtonwood, due to smoke in the area.

At 13:25 one crew attended at Tan House Lane after a fire lit on land needed firefighters to attend and extinguish it, due to it creating smoke in the area. They used a hose reel to do this.

Earlier in the day at 08:57 one crew from Warrington attended reports of a fire in the open on Alder Lane.

Firefighters used a water backpack to extinguished a small fire involving wood chips. This is believed to be a deliberate ignition.
