Two people rescued and taken to hospital after kitchen fire

TWO people were taken to hospital after being rescued by firefighters following a kitchen fire at a flat in Warrington.

At 17:37 yesterday (Tuesday) crews from Warrington, Birchwood and Lymm, were called to reports of a fire at a property on Whitecross Road.

Firefighters were called to a persons reported fire involving a flat. Two people were rescued from the flat by crews who used a hose reel to put the fire out. The premises was evacuated while the fire was dealt with and two casualties were treated by paramedics.
Cordons were in place and the flat was cleared of smoke.
The fire was fully extinguished by 19:10 and is believed to have involved the kitchen of a flat. Two people were taken to hospital as a result of the fire.
