THE local branch of the RSPCA is appealing for information after an underweight dog with various health conditions was left tied to a gate outside their premises on Slutchers Lane, Warrington.

RSPCA Warrington Halton & St Helens Branch has put out the appeal after taking in the dog yesterday, Wednesday, after capturing the incident on CCTV.

Launching an appeal for information via social media the charity posted: “Yesterday, this beautiful girl was sadly left alone tied to our gates
“We have her potential owner on CCTV but if you recognise this dog and may know the owner then please get in touch.
“We know people struggle and are thankful she was left at our gates where she would be found but we would appreciate that people wouldn’t just leave a dog without speaking to us first.
“Now named Hope ❤️ this beautiful girl was taken straight for some much-needed veterinary attention.
“She is underweight, overgrown nails, skin issues, a painful cherry eye which will need corrective surgery (she will get this done) and a nasty abscess on her neck.”

People are terrified that the RSPCA will prosecute them when things go wrong, which is why they do their best for their animals and leave them where they hope they will get help but do so anonymously.
