Fire crews rescue resident from smoke-filled flat

FIRE crews rescued the occupant of a flat at Warrington after a kitchen fire resulted in the property becoming heavily smokelogged.

Three fire engines from Warrington, Lymm and Penketh went to the scene in Granston Close, Dallam.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the smoke-filled flat to rescue the resident and gave care until the arrival of the ambulance service.
They tackled the blaze with a hosereel jet and then used a ventilation unit to clear smoke from the property.

Crews remained at the scene for around three hours.
It is believed the fire started accidentally.
