A complex recovery operation after a lorry overturned on the M6 near Lymm earlier today caused lengthy delays and queues more than eight miles long.
At one point delays of 120 minutes were being reported by National Highways.
The lorry partially overturned onto the verge on the M6 southbound between junction 19 for the M56 at Lymm Interchange and junction 20 for Northwich and Knutsford at Tabley.
The incident occurred at 8.21 am this morning, Wednesday, with recovery still ongoing at 13.40.
Two lane closures have now been reduced to one but traffic remains heavy in the area.
