WARRINGTON Hockey Women’s 1st Team made it six games undefeated with a 3-1 away win at local rivals Golborne.

Warrington jumped into an early lead with Louise Unsworth shovelling in a rebound after the first short corner of the game was awarded. In a well-balanced game with conflicting styles, the local derby soon became heated and Warrington stepped up to the plate. Olivia Mason was resilient in defence while midfielders Kellie Kellett and Laura Herst provided key interceptions in midfield.
Warrington continued to have the better chances and Jo Jakey made it 2-0 with a composed finish into the bottom corner. Golbourne pulled one back shortly after halftime, a speculative long pass took a lucky deflection off of their forward and into the goal. Warrington restored their two goal lead straight from the restart, a slick passing move down the right side allowed Steph Quayle to sweep home which she gladly took.
Warrington Women’s Development Team beat Macclesfield 2-0 away from home, a result which highlighted the team’s progression having lost 6-1 earlier in the season.
Warrington set out to prove a point and restricted their hosts to just a few chances, Tracy Jackson provided some excellent communication in goal while Gloria Roden-Lui put in a standout performance in defence. Warrington scored both goals in the first half, the opening goal came from Jo Jakey who found the back of the net with aplomb after a great assist from Amy Molden.
It was Molden who scored the second, capping a great performance after a few weeks off with injury.
Bella Thornton provided the assist after cutting through the Macclesfield defence with great stick skills. Warrington dug deep in the second half as Macclesfield fought to get back into the game to take an excellent three points and extended their undefeated streak to seven.

Warrington Men’s 2nd Team mounted a great comeback to snatch a 2-2 draw at home against Alderley Edge
The hosts were 2-0 down at halftime but had enjoyed good possession and created some half chances.
A slight tactical reshuffle saw Warrington take control and push Alderley Edge back. Sam Jowett drove forward before finding Deakon Ritchie at the far post who applied the finish to score his first senior goal for the club having started in the junior ranks.
Warrington continued to push forward with wave after wave of attack and were unlucky not to be awarded a penalty flick. Rob Powell rounded the goalkeeper before his goal-bound effort was stopped on the line by a defender’s leg, however, the umpire adjudged it to have been blocked by a stick. The equaliser came with a couple of minutes remaining, Luke Skilander and Powell combined before the latter’s cross was tapped home by David Hales to secure a well-deserved point.

Warrington Men’s 1st Team played out a 2-2 draw away at Triton.
A Richard Cook dragflick clipped the inside of the post to give the visitors the lead midway through the first half before the hosts smuggled a goal back just before halftime catching the Warrington defence napping from a well-worked set piece.
Warrington created chances in the second half with Harvey Mason and Cook once again going close.
However, it was Triton who took the lead, through a Warrington defensive error. Warrington pushed for an equaliser, and it came through a great solo effort from Tim Berger, who drove into the Triton area, dribbled around the goalkeeper before tapping into an empty goal.
Both sides pushed for a winner, Tom Lloyd made some great saves in goal before James Warburton cleared one off the line. Alan Livingstone went closest for Warrington as his first-time strike grazed the outside of the post.
