WARRINGTON’S teenage darts sensation Luke Littler made an early exit in the Premier League at Glasgow, after a thrilling battle with Gerwyn Price.
The 17-year-old was given a great reception by the crowd but the Welshman stood strong.
Price just missed double 12 for a nine-darter at 3-2 down but came back to level at 3-3.
Littler went 4-3 up but again Price came back to win the next two legs before the young Englishman levelled at 5-5. However, Price won 6-5 to set up a semi-final against Luke Humphries, who beat Nathan Aspinall 6-3.
After Littler’s stunning Players Championship debut he also fell to a second-round defeat in the second tournament in Wigan on Tuesday.
Littler, who had hit a nine-dart finish on his way to winning the title on Monday, was pipped 6-5 by Radek Szaganski.
The teenage sensation had looked set to launch back-to-back assaults on the final stages after opening with an impressive 6-4 win over experienced former UK Open winner Danny Noppert.
Former world champion Gary Anderson won the title on Tuesday with an 8-5 win over Ryan Searle, the same player whom Littler had beaten in the final on Monday.
