WARRINGTON teenager Luke “The Nuke” Littler did it again as he stormed to another sensational victory to continue his remarkable World Darts Championship debut by thrashing Brendan Dolan to breeze into the semi-finals.
Sixteen-year-old Littler continued his fairytale journey with a 101.93 average, throwing five maximums during a hugely dominant display against the Northern Irishman, who had beaten former world champions Gerwyn Price and Gary Anderson in his previous rounds before being totally outclassed in a 5-1 defeat at Alexandra Palace in London.
Littler remained remarkably calm as he stayed in near total control throughout as he booked a semi-final meeting with 2018 world champion Rob Cross, who became the first player in tournament history to come back from 4-0 down in a quarter-final to stun Chris Dobey.
The Warrington based youngster is just now one game away from a place in the final and has the belief that he can now go all the way!
“I’m glad to get here,” Littler told Sky Sports. “I’ve earned it and my performances have been good. I’ve thrown another 100+ average and my doubles are on 47 per cent, so it’s gone well today as well.
“If I keep it up, I’ve got a good chance. Now I am dreaming! I’m two games away. I’m definitely thinking about lifting the title.”
