BRIGHT Futures School in Lymm are sharing their ‘Favourite Time of Year’ this yuletide, by releasing a Christmas song to raise money for The Children’s Society.

Students at the school, which provides great quality care and education to children and adults with autism, complex needs, SEN and learning disabilities, recorded the track at the start of December.  The schools Music lead, Matt Higham, jumped at the opportunity to write the song for the school and to celebrate with the student’s everything they enjoy about the Christmas period.
“It was such a fun song to write and the students really got behind it.  We started rehearsing back in November and the kids and staff soon had it stuck in their heads and were eager to record it”.  Matt said.

The school contacted Warrington Youth Zone to help them record the song. The Youth Zone offered us full use of their recording studio at Dallam Lane, and had staff at hand to show students how to use the equipment and explain how a record is put together.
Tom Floyd, a long standing staff member at Bright Futures added, “the staff at the Youth Zone were really accommodating and loved having all the students there for the day.  They really got the best out of the students.  Without their great work, we couldn’t have fulfilled our goal.”

The song, Favourite Time of Year, was recorded and mixed in a couple of days and released via Spotify and Apple Music.  The school have also set up a Just Giving page to help raise funds.
