WARRINGTON Male Voice Choir is preparing for their annual Christmas Voices Christmas Brass concert on 16 December at the town’s Parr Hall in what will be the finale to their 125th anniversary year.

In what is now known as the biggest and best concert of the year, the choir, under Musical Director, Russell Paterson, will be joined as usual by guests Leyland Band and the audience will have the opportunity to join in with singing some Christmas carols.

As many members of the audience have previously said, ‘Christmas hasn’t begun until you’ve been to a Warrington Male Voice Choir ‘Christmas Voices Christmas Brass’ concert. It’s a great night of festive fun for families, friends and people of all ages. To help get you into the festive mood the choir are encouraging the audience to wear something Christmassy for the occasion!

This year, in the audience, the choir will be joined as usual by the Mayor of Warrington, who is their President, along with somebody who is very special and dear to the choir, their Patron, Sir Terry Waite KCMG, CBE.

The concert which ctarts at 7:30pm will be the first Christmas concert at the Parr Hall for a few of the choirs’ newest members. In particular, their youngest member, George Sugden aged 34, says “this choir has become a real benefit to my life. As a new member, I was given the warmest welcome and have found true inspiration from the upbeat, cheerful members and brilliant staff. We now perform together in song, which is fairly uncommon and much overlooked in the day to day. To be on stage at Parr Hall with friends, will be a great memory and a privilege”.

At the end of the concert, there will be a retiring bucket collection in aid of the Walton Lea Partnership who are a Warrington based charity that provides training, support and opportunities for adults and young people with learning disabilities. Please bring with you any spare change you have – coins or notes – so you can support this much needed local charity.

With more than half the tickets are already sold, the choir are urging the good people of Warrington and beyond, to support them by buying their tickets now. Tickets at £12 and £6 under 16 can be bought by ringing 01925 442345, visiting www.pyramidparrhall.com, or in person from the Pyramid/Parr Hall ticket office (Note: Parr Hall booking and restoration levy fees apply).
