Teenager arrested on suspicion of drug driving after main road through Lymm closed due to collision

UPDATED: A teenager was arrested on suspicion of drug driving after a two vehicle collision resulted in the A56 at Lymm being closed in both directions on Sunday afternoon.

Police were called to reports of a collision on the A56, Higher Lane, in Lymm at around 3.20pm on Sunday 20 August.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “Officers attended and found the collision involved a gold Range Rover Evoque and a black ford Focus Titanium.

“There were no reports of any serious injuries, however, the road was blocked while emergency services dealt with the incident.
“The driver of the Range Rover was arrested on suspicion of drug driving. The 19-year-old has since been released pending the outcome of a blood test.”
