AFTER a successful tour of Europe, Warrington rockers Standin’ Man, are returning closer to home when they will be supporting legendary Rock icons The Who as part of their ‘The Who Hits Back’ tour at St Helens’ Totally Wicked Stadium this Friday, July 21.
But Warrington music fans who want to see the band fronted by Dean Fairhurst, will have to get down early, as the band start the show at 5:30 pm.
Gigging with the Who is no strange thing to Burtonwood-based Dean, who toured with the legendary rockers with his former band Slydigs.
It’s been a busy schedule for the band following the release of their debut album ‘Life Intimidating Art’, produced by Jim Spencer (Johnny Marr, The Charlatans, New Order).
The brainchild of lead singer and songwriter Dean, Standin’ Man blends 60’s inspired rock sensibilities with psychedelia and contemporary rock elements to create a nuanced sound packed with insightful lyrical commentary.
The band has been picking up new fans across Europe with standing ovations and merchandise sales are over £1,100 in just the last two gigs – not bad for the supporting Band – to Vintage Trouble, the Californian Headline Band. Sales went so well they’ve had to order more for the UK part of the tour! For tickets CLICK HERE
