Pulp provide fitting finale as sun sets on another fabulous Neighbourhood Weekender

AS the sun set over Warrington’s Victoria Park headliners Pulp brought the curtain down on another fabulous day of musical entertainment at the annual Neighbourhood Weekender Festival.

Twenty-eight years after headlining at the first-ever VFest, front man Jarvis Cocker took to the main stage declaring “yes this is real” as thousands of music fans took a trip down memory lane.

While the event may have lacked a few big hitting acts from previous years, there was still plenty of musical talent on show to entertain the thousands of festival goers.
And while Pulp might not have had the same energy as twenty-eight years ago, it provided a fitting finale to a weekend of fun enjoyed by all aged groups and musical tastes. Their renditin of Disco 2000 was certainly a crowd pleaser!
From Paul Heaton of the House Martins rocking the main stage on Saturday night, to singer-songwriter Anne-Marie bringing the house down in the big top with her rendition of the song “Baby Don’t Hurt Me” which samples Haddaway’s hit “What Is Love” – a song she has recorded after teaming up with David Guetta and Coi Leray, there was plenty to please the crowds.

Meanwhile local talent also got a chance to shine in the sun on the Viola Beach Stage. Roll on next year’s event.
