VIDEO: THOUSANDS of music fans flocked to Warrington for the Neighbourhood Weekender Music Festival which was blessed with glorious sunshine, shining down on Victoria Park.
Saturday’s showcase featured Paul Heaton with special guest Rianne Downey, along with The Kooks co-headlining. Joining them were The Wombats, Scouting for Girls, Ocean Colour Scene, Jamie Webster, Sugababes and The Enemy.
Sunday will see the return, after 28 years, of Jarvis Cocker and Pulp who headlined at the original V Fest with more good weather forecast.
The original V Festival in 1996 was the brainchild of Warrington’s own Simon Moran, whose SJM Concerts promoted the event – the same promoters behind Neighbourhood Weekender.
As well as music the event provided fun for all the family with fair ground rides and various stands and stalls.
The ice cream sellers had a brisk trade!
Neighbourhood Weekender has become a firm favourite in the Warrington music calendar.

Wow. So many people
How are people going to get home when all the access roads are closed just when they need picking up. I’ll have to get the magic carKet fuelled up.
