Gulliver’s World hosts successful Foodbank Weekend

KIND-hearted theme park goers have enjoyed a day out at Gulliver’s World whilst donating hundreds of food items for a local foodbank.

Gulliver’s World in Warrington hosted a Foodbank Weekend in aid of The Trussell Trust, offering cheaper theme park tickets when customers brought along one non-perishable food item per person, to donate.
And the weekend, which marked the 10th anniversary of the theme park resort hosting days to help foodbanks in the local community, did not disappoint with guests donating a grand total of 4,560kg of food.
Craig Clews, resort director at Gulliver’s World, said: “Our customers turned up to our foodbank weekend and donated so much to help support people in need. We can’t thank everyone enough for their donations which really will go a long way to support families in our area who need it.
“We know how tough it is for lots of people at the moment so the work of the foodbanks across the UK is more important than ever and Gulliver’s is so pleased to have been helping the work of our local foodbank for a decade now.”

Vikki O’Donnell, project manager at Warrington Foodbank, said: “Thanks so much to Gulliver’s World for having us again. We were absolutely blessed by the weather and also by the generosity of all the guests who donated more than 4,560kg of food! This truly is an amazing amount given the current cost of living crisis.
“Once again, thanks so much for the opportunity – it really does mean more than you can imagine to so many families across Warrington.”
