Planning sought for five houses – which are already nearly built

PROPOSALS for five houses on the site of a former farmhouse are to be considered by Warrington planning chiefs – even though construction of the properties is already well advanced.

Five houses are under construction on the site of the former Dingle Farm, in Dingle Lane, Appleton.

The application is being treated as retrospective – but the applicant says the work already carried out is in line with earlier planning consents approved in 2020 and the following year.

The original application was for four properties – three terraced and one larger property at the rear. But this was later amended by splitting the larger property into two.
The current proposals are for three terraced houses and a pair of semi-detached houses.

Planning officers have been told the former farm house was latterly used as a farm shop and gallery.
Work started on the construction of the houses in June last year.
The site is currently in the Green Belt but the emerging Local Plan clearly states it is to be removed from the Green Belt.
Warrington Borough Council planners will rule on the new, retrospective application, in the near future.
