PLANS for an improved beer garden at a popular Warrington pub have been submitted to the borough council.

The proposals at the Rope and Anchor, in Manchester Road, Woolston will enhance the existing pub without having any detrimental impact on nearby residents, according to applicants the J.W. Lees brewery.
They say the scheme will have no adverse impact on the highway, trees or ecology and will bring significant benefits to customers and visitors to the pub.
It will improve the existing beer garden, provide a secure bin store and reinforce the business model, attracting new customers and increased custom.

A pub has existed on the site since the 19th century, although the location of the building was altered after the 1960s.
The works will be carried out very much in the tradition of JW Lees style, incorporating a high level of design and details finished with the highest quality fittings, fixtures and finishes completed with the highest level of craftsmanship, the applicants state.
