A new litter network has been launched in Latchford by volunteers from the Guru Nanak Gurdwara Sikh Temple.
Based at the Gurdwara, the plan is that the team will regularly tidy the local neighbourhood along Thelwall Lane and other local hotspots as needed.
Tony Dixon from the Warrington Litter Networks said: “This is good news for the whole community and will be a vital piece in the jigsaw of a tidier Latchford, and ultimately a tidier Warrington.”
A team kit of pickers, hoops, gloves and hi-vis vests has now been presented to the new team. The cost of the kit has been funded by the Warrington Borough Council CIF programme, via Warrington Tuesday Team, and more will follow as needed.
The event was hosted by Mr Kuldeep Dhillon and the Sikh Community. Local Councillors Hans and Karen Mundry and Hospital Board Chairman Mr Steve McGuirk, a regular litter-picking volunteer, attended, along with members of the Tuesday Litter Team, Keep Britain Tidy and Warrington Litternetworks.
