POLICE are stepping up patrols in the Scott Street area of Orford after two men were shot at by youths using a BB gun.

Local Co-op store manager Dave Appleton was hit on the head and his friend in the back as they walked along Scott Street and were shot at by youths in a nearby park at 9 pm on Thursday.

Both men were uninjured after being shot at with a BB gun by youths but the incident was reported to police.

Mr Appleton said:” We were in Scott Street and kids were messing about on the park with a BB gun. One hit me on the head and one hit my mate on the back. Police came and said they would do patrols to look for them.”
