Police seek witnesses after man arrested on suspicion of rape

POLICE are seeking witnesses after a man was arrested on suspicion of raping an 18-year-old teenager on Buttermarket Street, Warrington, during the early hours of this morning, Friday.

The incident is alleged to have taken place at around 1 am this morning in an area off Buttermarket Street which was taped off this morning.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape and possession of cannabis and is currently in police custody for questioning.
“Anyone who has information is asked to contact Cheshire Constabulary online quoting IML 1362596.”
