SIXTEEN-hundred members of the autistic community are set to enjoy a day out at Gulliver’s World this month, when The A World UK takes over the Warrington theme park for a day.

The Salford-based not-for-profit organisation, which exists to support the autistic community across the north of England, has booked the park and hotel rooms at Gulliver’s World on an exclusive basis, on Saturday 24 September.
Tickets for the takeover event sold out in just three hours, with 1,600 people now booked to attend.

Phillipa Rotherham-Howell, events and marketing assistant at The A World UK, said: “We’re so excited to be heading to Gulliver’s World for a fun-packed day at the theme park this month.
“Many people take a day out such as this for granted. However, for those within the autistic community, a day out surrounded by other families who truly understand what it’s like to live with autism means so much.
“We’re thrilled the event has been a sell-out and we can’t wait to welcome everyone along to the park on the day.”

Craig Clews, resort director at Gulliver’s World, said: “Supporting the community and organisations such as The A World UK means a lot to us here at Gulliver’s.
“We pride ourselves on our team understanding the varying needs of individuals, and we have a number of initiatives in place throughout the year to make sure everyone who visits feels comfortable and supported, no matter what their accessibility requirements are.
“However, having exclusive use of the park during The A World UK’s takeover day will undoubtedly provide extra peace of mind for families, so that they can completely relax and enjoy a day out alongside many others who understand what it’s like to be a part of the autistic community.”
